A new update for The Legend of Dragoon is available to download now, supposedly fixing the recently released RPG's technical issues. As you might have read last week, the emulated PS1 classic, which is part of PS Plus Premium, launched with a bunch of performance problems. These issues ranged from bugged visuals to full-on softlocks during combat, forcing players to either restart the game or rewind and play it differently.
A nasty memory leak was also reported, which eventually leads to garbled audio and yet more softlocks if you play for an extended period of time.
Frankly, it just wasn't good enough, but at least a patch has been pushed sooner rather than later. We can't find any official patch notes at the time of writing, but we're already seeing players say that the aforementioned softlocking issue has been solved. Hopefully that's the end of that. The update itself is just under 100MB.

Sony should have taken better care of this launch, even if its a niche title. But at least they've been quick to patch it, unlike Square Enix with Chrono Cross
Yup. Seem to have fixed the soft-locking with Dragoon Magic and some audio issues. Glad to see they fixed it so fast. But should have been noticed from the start.

You do start to question if they even test these games before launch! I downloaded it and this one was obviously not right from the first moment the game started.

Good to see this getting patched. Looks like Sony is taking Premium more serious now with patches like this and the ones adding trophies to previously released games.
Now can we get a Trophy Patch for Toy Story 2?

Had this game for the original PlayStation, I remember I was really into it and it was super rare in my country. One day, my brother and I get into an argument and he broke one of the discs out of spite. Never finished it. When we saw it was released for the PS5 - had a good laugh
Comments in dragoon Reddit mention that you need to load from a save point and not a save state to get the patched version of the game, using save states will just load the old version of the game/emulator.
Honestly, I hope all this interest in the game will convince Sony to make a remake or remaster of this game. I'm not that interested in playing a PS1 game, I could have already emulated it on my Vita.
@IndoorEnthusiast Not true. I loaded a save state and the fixes were applied. No issues going forward.
